The pristine shores of Little Andaman are set to host one of India’s most significant surfing events yet — the Little Andaman Pro 2026, marking a defining moment in the country’s rise on the global surfing map.
Bringing together top athletes, emerging talent, and key stakeholders from across the nation, the event reinforces the growing stature of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands as a high-potential surfing destination. With powerful, consistent swells and largely untouched coastlines, Little Andaman is fast becoming a focal point for the sport in India.
Vinayak Chamadia, IAS, Director (IP&T), Andaman & Nicobar Administration, highlighted the broader vision behind the event, stating that it “signals the rise of Andaman & Nicobar Islands as India’s next surfing hub.”
The Little Andaman Pro 2026 is proudly sponsored by Andaman & Nicobar Islands Tourism, reflecting a strong commitment to developing sustainable, sport-led tourism in the region.
More than just a competition, the event represents a larger movement — integrating high-performance sport, environmental awareness, and local community engagement. As national attention builds, Little Andaman is not just hosting an event — it is defining the next chapter of Indian surfing & SUP.
Stand Up Paddling (SUP) will be a key highlight of the Little Andaman Pro 2026, featuring sprint and technical race formats in both male and female divisions. The competition is designed to test speed, agility, and ocean awareness, with courses that challenge athletes through buoy turns, surf navigation, and fast-paced flatwater sections. With participation from some of India’s leading paddlers, the SUP segment reflects the rapid growth of the discipline under the International Surfing Association, while reinforcing a strong pathway for competitive progression and greater inclusion in ocean sport.
